About Grąžtai

AB Grąžtai is a Lithuanian drill factory. It started as the Vilnius drill factory in February 1957: in its first year 275 workers made 110,588 drills, and by 2003 the plant had made a billion. The state factory became the joint stock company Grąžtai in 1996. From 2007 the first production stages moved to a new heat treatment shop in Raseiniai, and since May 2016 all production has been there, with the office and the company shop in Vilnius. A 200 kW solar plant, built with EU support, supplies part of the factory's electricity.

Grąžtai makes drills from 0.30 to 76 mm to DIN 338, 339, 340, 341, 345 and 1869, and special drills to customer drawings for aircraft, car and machine tool makers. Everything is done in its own factory, from hardening the steel to grinding the cutting edge, and about 70% of the output goes to more than 20 countries. Among its special orders the company counts a drill for NASA that no other maker would take on. Website: graztai.lt.
